It is one of the oldest monasteries in the Bosnian Krajina, or 12 kilometers east of Kozarska Dubica in Kozara next to the river of the same name.
Like many other monasteries, this beautiful monastery has a turbulent past. It was destroyed as well as restored several times. All in all, it was built of hewn stone and is monumental in size: 23.4 meters long, 10.5 meters wide and 13.5 meters high.
