Emerik Blum was a Bosnian Jewish businessman as well as philanthropist and the founder and first director of one of Eastern Europe's largest conglomerates, Energoinvest.

He was born to immigrant Hungarian Jewish parents on 7 August 1911 in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was then a part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

In 1951 he founded and was the first director of Energoinvest, the largest company in ex-Yugoslavia, that actually continues working and is headquartered in Sarajevo.

He was a member of the Organizational Committee of the 1984 Winter Olympics.

He also entered a hospital in Fojnica in May 1984. Blum died there on 24 June 1984 in Fojnica, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Similarly, one street in Grbavica bears his name. All in all, if memorials were built from kind words and fond memories, Emerik Blum would surely have one of the greatest monuments in the history of Sarajevo and BiH.
