Zenica is the largest, most industrial town in central Bosnia, located 70 kilometers north of Sarajevo.

Zenica is the largest, most industrial town in central Bosnia, located 70 kilometers north of Sarajevo. The city is situated in the Bosnia river valley and represents political, administrative and cultural centre of the Zenica-Doboj Canton.

A touristic and recreational center Smetovi, near Zenica, is a great touristic potential with its ski slopes and picnic area. Popular destination for visitors are Bistričak resort, 25 km away from the town and the beach Kamberovića field with their touristic attractions such as courts for volleyball, basketball, soccer, and tennis courts.

A fortified town Vranduk, built in 14th century, is located 10 kilometers downstream from Zenica at the point where the river Bosnia is narrowest in its flow.
