Olympic Museum, Sarajevo

The Sarajevo Museum of XIV Winter Olympic Games was officially opened on February 8, 1984 on the day of the Olympic Games. Sarajevo Olympic Museum was one of the first bombed and destroyed cultural institutions in April 1992, at the beginning of the.

The building was badly damaged and many valuable items went up in smoke.

However, most of the collection was salvaged and transferred to the Zetra Olympic Complex and the new Olympic Museum of BiH was opened in 2004 to mark the 20th anniversary of the XIV WOG.

The concept of the Olympic Museum is to present the Olympic spirit and affirm humane values and noble side of sports and culture through accomplishments achieved at the XIV Winter Olympic Games.
