"Markale" is a name for the city market in Sarajevo.

"Markale" is a name for the city market in Sarajevo. German word "Markthalle" literally means “the place for selling”. Markale were declared as a national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina. 

The nearby green market is also called Markale. It was built in 1894 called "Markthalle fur Sarajevo", and the building was completed a year later.  The designer of the building market was August Butsch, and it was built in the Neo-Renaissance style. 

In the inner space, steel and wooden lattice structures of the vault as well as the basement refrigerator, represents a contemporary image of resolving interior space. In the lobby, there is one clock  which still exists today. It still exists.
