Čobanija Mosque

Čobanija Mosque was constructed before 1565 in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. This building is one of the most significant in our country.

It is quite capacious, with a fine stone minaret. There is also a poem in Turkish language, set into the walls around the minaret. There is a cemetery adjacent to the mosque, that some presume is the final resting place of the benefactor, Čoban-Hasan.

In 2007, a proposal was adopted for the mosque to be listed as a national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
