The Old Church, Vareš

The oldest church in Bosnia and Herzegovina is located in Vareš, a town situated around 50 kilometers north from Sarajevo with archeological findings from different epoch.

The Old Church, also called „Little Church“, is dedicated to Saint Michael. It was declared a heritage monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Near this small church, there is a new church that by its appearance reminds of the Cathedral in Sarajevo. Built in the 16th century, it was the most beautiful building in Vareš.
