Tašlihan

Tašlihan or stone han is a former caravan-saray. It was situated in site of the hotel "Europe" in Sarajevo.  It was the third built stone caravan-saray in our country.

It was built in the period from 1540 to 1543. It is the legacy of Gazi Husrev-Bey. It was built together with the Gazi Husrev-bey's bezistan, but in its western side.  Tašlihan was a square base, but the length was about 47 meters. In this yard, it includes a fountain.

Similarly, on the floor, there were rooms for travelers. Domestic and foreign merchants had their operations within Tašlihan. It is believed that this caravan-saray served more trade than passenger traffic. A fire in 1879 demolished beautiful Tašlihan.
