Sarajevo Olympic Bobsleigh and Luge Track is a luge track situated on Trebević mountain in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Sarajevo Olympic Bobsleigh and Luge Track is a luge track situated on Trebević mountain in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. This was built for the 1984 Winter Olympics.
A bobsleigh and luge track was proposed in 1977, when Sarajevo was awarded the 1984 Winter Olympics. However, this track was used for World Cup competitions after the Winter Olympics, until the start of the Yugoslav wars in 1991. It includes the Siege of Sarajevo as well.
The track was demolished as a result of the war. It was used as an artillery position by Bosnian Serb forces uring the siege. Nowadays, Sarajevo Olympic Bobsleigh and Luge Track still remain mostly intact with war and are mainly used for graffiti and bicycling.
