Tuzla, as one of the most multicultural cities in the country, is the economic, scientific, cultural, educational, health and tourist centre in northeast Bosnia. After Sarajevo and Banja Luka, Tuzla is the third largest city in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the only city in Europe that has three salt lakes in the city center, with a wide range of entertainment and beach facilities.

The second lake includes artificial waterfalls, Archaeological Park and Neolithic Lake Dwellings that are unique to the Balkan region. The summer season of 2013 recorded approximately 5,000 visitors per day. This shows how Tuzla city has been converted into an successful tourism complex for Bosnia and Herzegovina and the whole region.

Apart from Tuzla's many mosques, there is also an Orthodox church that went untouched throughout the war.
