Tališhan was buit in 1543 in the period of the greatest expansion of Sarajevo. Built of stone and covered with vaults and domes made of lead, it was the largest and the most representative facility of this kind in the region.

The original purpose of hans like Tašlihan, was to provide accomodation for merchants and their horses. Unlike other hans, Tališhan contained a row of shops, making it a trading han. Today, Tašlihan as one of the oldest places in Sarajevo, is just in ruins and all you can find while walking freely along the footbridge is that remarcable wall and information board.
