The Academy of Fine Arts, a lovely building on the banks of the Miljacka river, is considered as one of Sarajevo's most beautiful buildings.
The Academy of Fine Arts, a lovely building on the banks of the Miljacka river, is considered as one of Sarajevo's most beautiful buildings.
At first, the building served as an Evangelical Church, opened on November 19, 1899. The main initiator fot its construction was Filip Balif, while one of the most famous architects from Sarajevo, Karl Paržik was responsible for the design.
The church began to lose its original function by the end of the First World War, when most Evangelical had left Sarajevo. At the end of the 1970s, the lovely building became a home for the Academy of Fine Arts.
