Karađoz Bey Mosque is one of the most significant mosques in the city of Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. This mosque is the largest in the region with its big turret as well as the high minaret.

Karađoz Bey Mosque is one of the most significant mosques in the city of Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. This mosque is the largest in the region with its big turret as well as the high minaret. 

Karađoz Bey Mosque was built in 1554, by Mehmed Bey Karađoz, the brother of Ottoman vizier Rustem Pasha. Mimar Sinan, famous Turkish architect, drawn up the plans for this mosque. 

The mosque was shattered during World War II and the Bosnian War in the early 1990s. Moreover, like the rest of Mostar, Karađoz Bey Mosque repairs between 2002 and 2004.

The mosque was completely renovated and reopened in July 2004.
