The House of Alija Đerzelez

Alija Đerzelez  is a popular legendary hero in epic poetry and literature in Bosnia and Herzegovina.  

Songs about Đerzelez Alija were transmitted by bilingual singers from South Slavic to northern Albanian milieu. Then, Đerzelez Alija was renamed to Gjergj Elez Alia.

The popular house of Alija Đerzelez was built in the 17th century. It is really one of the jewels of Bosnian architecture. All in all, in 2007 the house was renewed to its old glory.
