Banja Luka is the second largest city in Bosnia and Herzegovina, surrounded by rolling green hills and its very rough river Vrbas which splits city into two parts. This charming city and its surrounding area offer plentiful natural beauty and cultural sites, all easily accessible to those who are visiting for a week or merely a day.

With more than 10,000 trees and greenery, Banja Luka has been called the "Green City," known throughout the country for its rich parks, gardens and tree-lined streets. Banja Luka’s tourism thrives on the area’s plentiful natural attractions, several museums including Ethnographic Museum and the Museum of Modern Art, and the most beautiful cultural heritage, fortress Kastel.

Ferhat Pasha Mosque, also known as the Ferhadija Mosque, was a central building in the city of Banja Luka and one of the greatest buildings which represent Islamic architecture in Europe. The mosque was demolished during the Bosnian War in 1993 at the order of the authorities of Republika Srpska, and it is currently being rebuilt.

Located just outside the city, near the town of Krupa, is a large, striking waterfall on the Vrbas River. Also, its climate makes picturesque, snowy winters and pleasantly warm summers. In summer, you can participate in sporting activities such as rafting and kayaking.
