Wild horses, Livanjsko polje

Wild horses of Livanjsko plains is one of the most beautiful tourist attractions that should be under government protection. 

They can survive without humans, adapt to conditions in the mountains, and unlike tame horses they can find food throughout the year alone. Even in winter they are digging grass they eat beneath the snow. Those animals pass tens of kilometers every day in search for food, and everyone who see them becomes enchanted with their beauty.

Hundreds of people come here every year to watch and take photographs of the horses which have lived in the wild for more than 30 years.

By living in the wild they have gradually developed survival instincts that domestic horses do not have. It's most fascinating to see them running free, in pure natural conditions.
