Fojnica is a town and municipality in central Bosnia and Herzegovina, located west of the capital Sarajevo. It lies in the bottomland of the Fojnička River.

Fojnica is a town and municipality in central Bosnia and Herzegovina, located west of the capital Sarajevo. It lies in the bottomland of the Fojnička River.

However, Fojnica is part of the Central Bosnia Canton and it is a small, high-coloured town. The most important cultural spot in Fojnica is the Holy Spirit Franciscan Monastery that is one of the most important part of the nation's cultural inheritance, sustained by the Franciscan Province of Bosna Srebrena.

Fojnica also has a prominent spa. The other most popular spa in Bosnia is in Olovo. A nearby agricultural co-operative grows about 20 tonnes of the potatoes annually.
