Vjetrenica, the largest and most famous cave in Bosnia and Herzegovina, is a protected monument of nature and tourist destination in the southeastern part of Herzegovina.

What is particularly attractive is the appearance of strong wind at the entrance and the significant flow of air in a few places in the interior. This air circuit is a result of the temperature difference inside and outside of the cave.

The total length of the discovered channels of the Vjetrenica is about 5.688 meters and the first 200 meters are at some points lower than the average height of a man.

Speleological peculiarities of this unique cave are its specific beauty, wide corridors and halls, many clusters of stalactites and stalagmites, and a rich hydrographic world with many lakes, several waterfalls, a couple of permanent streams and dozens of smaller periodic streams which flow in different directions.
