Although the town of Foča was heavily damaged during the Bosnian War, the surroundings offer many possibilities. Rafting on the Tara and Drina river is getting more and more popular, but hiking and biking in Sutjeska National Park is also attracting many foreign visitors.

Although the town of Foča was heavily damaged during the Bosnian War, the surroundings offer many possibilities. Rafting on the Tara and Drina river is getting more and more popular, but hiking and biking in Sutjeska National Park is also attracting many foreign visitors.

Only 9 kilometers from Foča, near the old road to Miljevina, there are sand pyramids.

For many years winds, rains, snows, strong frosts and summer heats, have rinsed, dried and strengthened and made the Pyramids in their natural form like the ones in Colorado or in Đavolja Varoš (''Devil's town) in Serbia.

Phenomena similar to this one can be found in Tirol, on the border between Italy and Austria, and in the area of the Colorado Canyon in the USA.
