Professional surfer attacked by a shark

Mick Fanning, one of the world's top surfers, has made an incredible escape after encountering two sharks during a major competition in South Africa.

Pro surfer miraculously escapes life-threatening shark encounter.

"I was just about to start paddling again and all of a sudden I had this instinct that something was behind me," Fanning told Australian news agency News.com. 

"I felt like it was dragging me under water and then my leg rope broke so I started swimming and screaming ... I just can’t believe it," he said. 

Fanning was not injured in the encounter and the encounter forced the final of the Open to be called off for the day.
