Balkana Lake, Mrkonjić Grad

Balkana is a lake located in the municipality of Mrkonjić Grad, eastern Bosnia and Herzegovina. The city and its surroundings have a rich tourist offer that may be suitable for everyone. 

Balkana Lake is the most attractive place in this area and it is surrounded by dense forests of oak and pine. The tourist complex includes two artificial lakes that are filled by the water of the mountain streams Cjeplo and Skakavac, several bungalows, restaurants and camping spots.

A small part of the lake is made for swimming and the bigger one is for fishing. It is a paradise for fishers who can catch trout and shadow fishes in the Lake Balkana.
