Alley in Ilidža

An attractive promenade from the spa – tourist complex Ilidža to Vrelo Bosne, planted with trees of plane-trees and chestnuts in length of 3.5 kilometres, represents the most beautiful alley in B&H. In the alley there are villas from Austro-Hungarian period. The alley consists of 726 trees of maple-leaved plane-trees, planted in 2 rows in 1892, and dozens of wild chestnut trees planted in 1888. This green "tunnel" has always represented a genuine tourist attraction and a peculiar monument of Nature.

This beautiful alley is a part of „Vrelo Bosna“ tourist attraction that is included in all tourist tours of Sarajevo and an important destination for foreign tourists and the visitors frot this area, who want to enjoy the nature. It is consisted of several small islands that are connected with bridges over numerous small streams. Water surfaces are decorated with the scenes of beautiful black and white swans and ducks that the visitors like to photograph.
