Bivši američki predsjednik Bill Clinton poručio je da mu je dosta omalovažavanja muslimana zbog njihove vjere, ističući važnost međusobnog upoznavanja, poštovanja i učenja.
„Umoran sam od toga da ljudi omalovažavaju muslimane samo zato što su muslimani.
U Kur'anu piše, a za to sam prvi put čuo od svoje kćerke, koja je pročitala Kur'an od početka do kraja kada je imala 15 godina. Rekla mi je: 'Pročitaj ovo.'
Allah je stvorio različite narode na Zemlji ne da bi jedni druge prezirali, nego da bi se međusobno upoznavali i učili jedni od drugih.
U svakoj vjeri postoje ljudi koji čine loše stvari, jer smo svi nesavršena ljudska bića.
Ali, vjerski ratovi, kulturni sukobi – jednostavno mi je dosta svega toga“, poručio je Clinton.

The Quran says, and I first heard this from my daughter, who read the Quran from start to finish when she was 15 years old, and she said, "Read this." Allah put the different people on the earth not that they might despise one another, but that they might come to know one another and learn from one another. There are bad actors in every faith because we're all flawed human beings. But the religious wars, the culture wars, I'm just tired.

Clinton je govor održao u crkvi u Hollywoodu na Floridi na skupu podrške demokratskom kandidatu za guvernera ove savezne države Davidu Jollyju.
