One of the most beautiful mountains in Bosnia and Herzegovina is Šator mountain, located in western part of BiH. This astonishing mountain is very suitable for family trips and has very aesthetic appearance in general.
This part of Dinaric Alps, Šator mountain, includes a lake, rich flora and fauna, numerous geomorphological and hydrological phenomena. South slopes of Šator are grassy, in spring covered with carpets of flowers. On the opposite, north side are steep cliffs and scree slopes.
Famous Šatorsko lake has the deepest point of 8 meters and the water has darker tone of green color caused by plant called Potamogeton that grows in the lake. The highest peak Veliki Šator is 1,872 m.
